En dag när allt gick fel

Simon vaknade klockan åtta.

Simon woke up at eight o'clock.

Han skulle vara på jobbet klockan nio.

He was supposed to be at work at nine.

—Åh nej! Jag försov mig! — ropade Simon.

—Oh no! I overslept! — Simon shouted.

Han hoppade ur sängen och sprang till köket.

He jumped out of bed and ran to the kitchen.

Han måste ha en kaffe på morgonen. Men kaffet var slut.

He needed coffee in the morning. But the coffee was gone.

—Inte nu! Jag har inte tid för det här! — sa Simon.

—Not now! I don't have time for this! — Simon said.

Han letade överallt efter sina nycklar.

He looked for his keys everywhere.

De låg hela tiden i hans jackficka.

They had been in his jacket pocket the whole time.

När han öppnade dörren såg han att det regnade kraftigt.

When he opened the door, he saw that it was raining heavily.

—Var är mitt paraply? — mumlade Simon frustrerat.

—Where's my umbrella? — Simon mumbled frustratedly.

Han hittade inget paraply och sprang ut ändå.

He couldn't find an umbrella and ran out anyway.

Efter tio sekunder var han redan helt blöt.

After ten seconds he was already completely soaked.

Simon sprang mot busshållplatsen så fort han kunde.

Simon ran toward the bus stop as fast as he could.

Bussen körde precis när han kom fram.

The bus drove off just as he arrived.

—Nej, nej, NEJ! — skrek Simon efter bussen.

—No, no, NO! — Simon shouted after the bus.

Han stod kvar, blöt och andfådd, och kände sig väldigt stressad.

He stood there, wet and out of breath, feeling very stressed.

Han ringde sin chef för att förklara att han skulle komma för sent.

He called his boss to explain that he would be late.

—Jag är verkligen ledsen, jag kommer inte i tid till mötet — sa Simon.

—I'm really sorry, I won't make it to the meeting on time — Simon said.

Chefen skrattade lite.

His boss laughed a little.

—Ingen fara, Simon! Mötet flyttades till klockan två — sa chefen.

—No worries, Simon! The meeting got moved to two o'clock — his boss said.

Simon blev alldeles tyst av lättnad.

Simon went completely quiet with relief.

—Tack och lov — viskade han.

—Thank goodness — he whispered.

Han köpte en kopp kaffe på vägen istället.

He bought a cup of coffee on the way instead.

Resten av dagen bestämde han sig för att bara ta det lugnt.

For the rest of the day, he decided to just take it easy.
